Ryan - Is this true for all objects? I was told that some objects - like roofs and floors - will show the 'single-face' area as expected. Or does this only apply to the "Area" field in a dedicated schedule?

Very good follow-up question James. Component or in-place families typically schedule all of the material faces for objects. This is where this “calculated value” column approach would be most useful.
System families such as walls, roofs, and floors should return a “single-face” area number in the schedule view. Thanks for the follow-up!
