Revit 2011 products can display decal images directly in the view without having to render. Since decals are typically meant to be inserted and utilized when rendering, what if you want to view them in the new realistic visual style?
When viewed in a realistic visual style you will see the decal image, border and diagonal "X" lines representing the decal size similar to the image below:
So what if you want to turn these black lines off? Decals are considered part of the Object Styles > Model Objects > Generic Model category. Since we don't want to hide lines for the entire generic model category, we can easily override the decals only.
Highlight the decal[s] you wish to override in the view and right-click > Override Graphics in View > By Element... Simply check Transparent to hide the black lines of the decal leaving only the image. This will only affect the decals you specify and they will still render \ print normally:
