We will be starting a series going over some of the new tools available for Revit 2011 products. The first item we will cover is the new Guide Grid for sheets.
A Guide Grid is a customizable grid, available in Revit sheets, to assist the user in aligning specific points of the view among numerous sheets. You can create a Guide Grid for a sheet view under View > Guide Grid.
When moving a viewport datum's inside the view or the crop region of the viewport will automatically snap to the Guide Grid.
You can also customize the grid spacing under Properties > Guide Spacing.
Once you have at least one Guide Grid setup it will be available in the Properties of the sheet view under Guide Grid. Here you can specify which type you would like to enable on a particular sheet.
