I caught the Architecture bug early in a hand drafting class in high school. The next year I took CAD drafting, learning on ACAD R12 (typing in the command line FTW!). After high school, I wanted to move away for college and went to the University of Oregon, where I spent time as a Mathematics major. However, after a couple years, I went back to Architecture and realized that was what I truly wanted to do. After graduating from Oregon, I decided that I needed to see something that was not the West Coast. I chose Chicago and Boston as the cities I preferred to live in and got a job in Cambridge, MA.
As part of my many duties at my office in Boston, I got to have a hand in designing the details of a few high-end houses on the South Shore, as well as really good low-income housing in Worcester. After becoming the CAD and office standards manager, I was tasked to try out Revit Architecture for possible implementation.
When not working, my interests range far and wide. I love reading about all things architecture, urban planning and design. From the sociology, to the technology, and detailing and construction (I was that kid that took apart everything at home). I also love typography, photography, and all things gadgets.
On occasion, I have also been known to enter housing design competitions.
And lastly, D-U-C-K DUX DUX DUX!
